DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CADET PILOT PROGRAM &CONVETIONAL PILOT PROGRAM

•Cadet Pilot Program(CPP)

-An airline outsources Commercial Pilot’s License training to a flying school.

-Average budget: INR 1,10,00,000

-Applicant has to undergo various selection processes(written tests, compass test, psychometry, group discussion and personal interview)

-Induction process includes signing a Letter Of Intent(LOI) with the airline before beginning flying training.

-LOI will get converted into a job contract only if the cadet has displayed proficiencyof their skills while in flying training-an LOI is a mutual agreement document, doesn’t equate toa job guarantee.

-Incase of unemployment post completion of CPL,cadet cant apply to other organisations for a job as they are legally binded to an airline via the LOI.

•Conventional Pilot Program

-Trainee registers with a flying school on their own accord.

-Average budget: INR 30,00,000

– Most flying schools don’t have a selection process for their conventional CPL program.

– Trainee isint legally bound to an organization;they can switchflying schools during their flying training tenure.

– Flying school may provide job assistance but not job assurance post completion of flying training.

– Post completionof flying training, trainee can apply to any hiring enterprise-a flying school/private charter/airlines,etc.
